Superb WMF Silver Plated On Best Nickel Silver Fruit Stand Centrepiece. Cherub / Putto holding a fluted Fruit Bowl. Fully Hallmarked / Stamped With : WMF: NS : EP. Superb / Wonderful Condition. Total weight : 977.6 Grams. Here we have a Stunning and beautiful silver plated on best nickel centrepiece, a large cherub / Putto holding a hand fluted silver plated fruit bowl. The condition of this WMF Putto centrepiece is amazing, very bright, absolutely no dents or dints and without nasty scratches, plus very little (IF ANY) silver loss. Without doubt this piece has been a cabinet or purely display piece for the majority of its life, it’s that good. The top fluted bowl is easily removed by simply lifting off, although the fit 100% without any movement at all, the cherub / Putto can also be removed from the base simply by screwing off, it has a thread rod and once again a very easy process fits perfectly, precise engineering by WMF. The cherub / Putto is holding the fruit bowl above his head, the base is decorated with stunning fluted work, very early Art Nouveau decorations covering the surface. The cherub is standing on a beach rock with one foot on a conk shall, the detailing on the cherub is superb, finest craftsmanship as you would expect from one of the best metalware companies in the world, WMF. WMF : EP : NS : all parts are marked NS or N for Nickel Silver. Very clearly marked and easily readable. One of the finest examples on sale anywhere, this centrepiece is simply in amazing condition, very rare and highly sought after. Diameter of Fruit Bowl Max : 23.0 cm or 9.0 inches. Height Fruit Bowl Max : 6 cm or 2.4 inches. Height total Max : 26 cm or 10.25 inches. Height Stand & Base only : 21.7 cm or 8.5 inches. Total Weight : 997.6 Grams. Superb / Fabulous Condition, no dents, dints or nasty scratches, a few very minor marks on the bottom underside edge of the base contact surface area (very insignificant) just mentioning. Very little silver loss (IF ANY), wonderful & Bright, very vibrant silver. Underneath the base is also in amazing condition, no damage or repair whatsoever. Bowl fit is perfect, no wobbles or loose fits, wonderful precise engineering fits 100%.
